Greetings from Funstead.org! This is the April edition of the Funstead.org newsletter |
HAPPY 40TH ANNIVERSARY IACT!
This year marks a pretty significant milestone for Indian Acres Club of Thornburg! Plans are being made to celebrate this occasion later in the year. Once the camping season officially kicks off keep an eye out in the IACT bulletin and also here on funstead.org for more information.
Upcoming Events:
April 11, 2009 - Auction
Saturday at 12:00 noon at the Holbert Building, 9104 Courthouse Road (Rte 208), Spotsylvania. A total of 24 lots consisting mostly of the lots that had 'sealed bids' submitted at the 2-21 auction will now be put out for an 'open bid' auction. A list of the lots and associated information can be obtained from the administration office, on www.indianacres.org and/or directly from the auction company by calling 757-538-0123. Information from Mr. Pritchett regarding lots sold at auction that have campers on them is as follows:
"It will also be announced that the campers will not go with the lot. They will have to be handled separately so a title can be issued. The distress notice has already been mailed to the recorded owner and shortly after the lot auction they will be handled through a sealed bid. This way the County can obtain a title for the high bidder. Will also have sealed bids for some of the campers that have no value so they can be removed. Hopefully this will help clean up some of the lots and help the sales in the future".
April 18 & 19, 2009 - Open House
This weekend will be set aside for potential property owners to come and check out the facilities! Should you wish to volunteer to take some 'future funsteader folks' around the acres to view lots or to volunteer other services - you can contact the administration office and touch base with the Property Administrator (540-582-6314).

Elections
This is where funstead.org keep the latest information about upcoming elections. Would you like to run for the BOD? Please let us know. We will be posting information about the nomination process here and we will also help interested candidates spread their message. See http://www.funstead.org/elections for more details. There is also a forum category for elections as well. This will be a great place to discuss issues and candidates for the upcoming IACT elections and will also give candidates an opportunity to interact with other funsteaders.

Drop me a note here or use my contact form with information you'd like to have included in the next (May) issue of our funstead.org newsletter. Glen meetings, fund raisers, birthday's, announcements, etc. I'll be happy to post them - I think Chris said it currently goes to around 136 funstead.org subscribers.
