We were down at our site Friday & Saturday and looks like IACT had quite a few people looking around. It was a beautiful day for an Open House too. We saw several groups of people looking at lots in Glens 4 & 5 near ours. We saw one get sold in Glen 5.

I  hope there were just as many people driving around the other glens. From what we saw, it looks like IACT definately got people's attention and into the gates this year.

If any heard a head count on visitors this weekend; we'd be interested to know.

Hope we'll get an update at this weekends BOD meeting if any lots were sold Undecided

It would probably be difficult to tell how many lots have been sold in just a week.  It takes time to get the deed work done.  But they should have a figure on how many membership applications have been turned in since Saturday.  I do know that there were several property owners that came back up to the clubhouse during the open house and said that people were looking at their lots, so everyone keep your fingers crossed.

I don't mean to be a damp dish rag (maybe I'm just an old dish rag? LOL!!) but actually, it's the auctions that will probably increase the dues base more than the open house.  Usually the open house has people buying lots that are already paying dues whereas we all know that the auctioned lots are back in taxes and more than likely not paying dues either.  But, if a lot does sell during the open house and it's one that was on the verge of not paying their dues than that would be a huge plus.  And the other big benefit of an open house is that it brings in "new blood" who will also spread the word about IA to their relatives and friends.  So, having the open house is a good thing but I'm not sure as good as the auctions with respect to the dues aspect.  I wish they would do more mini-open houses.  Like maybe every 2nd Saturday of the month (or every even month or quarterly) have an "open" time of say 10 AM till 2 PM where people could come through the gates, get a package handed to them like what they gave out this time, a notice to put in their cars and the chance to look around.  Anyway, something like that.  It would need to be advertised on the website and maybe even with a sign out front or even in the brochures that were handed out at the RV show.  Anyway, some good brainstorming could come up with a great plan.  And I guess that would come under the marketing aspect of IA.

Let's just say you're 'well seasoned' LOL and you always have extremely good feed back to a lot of the posts on funstead in my opinion!  I agree with you on your suggestion about doing open houses more often and even on a monthly basis.  It's been suggested at least twice (Aaron and Jessica and myself that I know of) have suggested to the BOD that putting something on our huge sign at the entrance with something along the lines of what you mention - "Visitors Welcome - call 540-582-6314 for info on tours held the 2nd Saturday each month".....there's that need again for a Marketing Committee.

Well, this "well seasoned" person is looking forward to being in her kayak this weekend and enjoying seeing all the turtles on the logs, the heron, the birds and the beauty of the lake. I just love it!! Cool

Me too!  Hopefully you'll let this 'unseasoned' kayaker tag along....

Sure, you just have to be able to keep up with the "seasoned" ones!! LOL!!

Just got back from IA.  What a great weekend!!  At least we know for sure the AC cranks!  It rocked!

Saw you guys a couple of times - wanted to get over for a chat but we had company and I just couldn't sneak away......I agree the weekend was fantastic and this is just April!!!

I was going to come by but saw you had family and such there and didn't want to intrude.  I'm assuming your grandkids were there?  We had some friends come up Saturday evening and we cooked burgers, dogs, and brats on the fire....yummy!  We spent all day Sunday exploring different Glens and throwing a pole in the different lakes here and there.  Lucky had a ball exploring new territory!  We had to keep driving back to the camper though so she could cool down.  A black dog and 90 degree weather with full sun doesn't mix well.  I had a co-worker over the weekend loose her dog due to heat stroke because she left him in the backyard too long.  So sad! :  (   It's an unfortunate reminder of what the heat can do to our furry family members.

So sorry to hear about your friends dog - yep the heat was brutal!  Pixie stood in the water just about the entire weekend trying to stay cool!  Sounds like you, Todd and Lucky had a blast this weekend as did the family and I.  Yep, had the kids and grandkids over as well as a girlfriend and her dog (Pixie's boyfriend - LOL!).  We'll catch up next time.....take care!
